49ers finish in sixth place at Rose City Collegiate

Sophomore Chaewon Park tied for 18th place at the Rose City Collegiate.

AURORA, Ore. - Sophomore Chaewon Park recorded a 75 in the final round of the Rose City Collegiate to tie for 18th place.

Park was the top player for Long Beach State, finishing the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 15-over-par 231.

LBSU shot a 310 to finish in sixth with a 63-over 927. Cal State Fullerton captured the team title with a 303 to win by four shots over second-place Oregon State (+52) and five strokes over third-place Seattle (+53). Tournament host Portland State placed eighth (+82).

Freshman Shawnee Martinez tied for 24th after shooting a 79 for a 18-over 234. Senior Simone Hoey finished one shot behind at 19-over tying for 26th, recording a final round 78.

Freshman Kassidy Teare and junior Rochelle Chan tied for 29th at 20-over as Teare shot an 81 and Chan turned in a 78.

Playing as individuals, redshirt sophomore Ashley Greer (+32) tied for 63rd and sophomore Bow-Kay Salotti (+34) tied for 66th.

A Ram Choi of Portland State captured individual medalists with a 2-over 218, winning by five strokes over Savana Bezdicek of Northern Arizona (+7).

LBSU returns to action Oct. 8-10, for the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash.
