Beach Tied For Ninth Place After Two Rounds In Idaho

After two rounds of play at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational, the Long Beach State women's golf team is tied for ninth place at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course.

LBSU posted an opening round team score of 285 to finish third at 1-over 285.  The Beach returned in the second round, scoring a 292 to fall six spots in the standings to tie with San Francisco at 9-over 577.

Colorado leads the field of 18 teams at 18-under 550, as the Buffaloes holds a nine shot lead over Illinois (-9) in second and 19 strokes over BYU (+1) in third.

Juniors Cara Barker and Haley Tygret were the top players for the Beach, tying for 23rd with a 1-over 143.  Both players posted an opening round score of 71 to tie for 12th and a second round 72.

Seniors Savannah Knox and Jennifer Yu are tied for 43rd at 5-over 147.  Knox fired an opening round 70 to tie for eighth, but came back in the afternoon shooting a 77.  Yu shot a 73 to tie for 34th and carded a second round 74.

Sophomore Euna Pak is tied for 67th at 9-over 151 after posting rounds of 77 and 74.

Kirsty Hodgkins of Colorado sits on top of the leaderboard of 90 players with a 9-under 133, as she holds a two-shot lead over Grace Park of Illinois.

Final round play concludes on Wednesday with a 7:45 a.m. (PT) shotgun start.  LBSU will be paired with Fresno State and Idaho.
