Beach Finishes In Fifth Place, Tygret Ties For Sixth At Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigran Ram Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Junior Haley Tygret recorded a season low 69 in Tuesday's final round of the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic, tying for sixth place and leading Long Beach State to fifth at the Ptarmigan Country Club.

LBSU recorded a 290 to move up two spots in the team standings to finish the three-day tournament at 13-over-par 877.

New Mexico State captured the team title at 8-under 856, as the Aggies won by two strokes over San Jose State (-6) in second and 16 shots over San Francisco and tournament host Colorado State (+8) tied for third.

Tygret closed out the season-opening tournament with a 54-hole score of 2-under 214, recording her best finish since finishing third at last year's LBSU hosted Gold Rush tournament.  The Gardena, Calif. native recorded a bogey-free front-nine that was highlighted by four birdies and five pars.

Senior Jennifer Yu shot a 71 to move up 10 spots in the standings, tying for 13th at 3-over 219.

Redshirt sophomore Euna Pak tied for 24th after shooting a 73 for a 5-over, while redshirt senior Savannah Knox tied for 41st after carding a 77 for a 9-over.

Junior Cara Barker shot a 78 to tie for 49th at 11-over.

Sophomore Holland Shourds and junior Breann Fox, competing as individuals for the Beach, tied for 43rd and 72nd respectively.  Shourds carded her best round of the tournament with a 74, moving 10 spots up in the standings to finish at 10-over.  Fox posted a 77 to move up one position, finishing at 19-over.



The Aggies' Suthavee Chanachai captured individual medalist at 11-under 205, winning by three shots over two players tied for second.

The Beach returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 26, for the two-day Coeur d'Alene Resort Invitational at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course.
