RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - The Long Beach State women's golf team shot a 29-over 317 in the second round of the SDSU Farms Invitational Monday at The Farms Golf Club. After 36 holes, the 49ers are in 11th place at 58-over 634.

Freshman Shawnee Martinez remained among the top-five as she is fourth with a score of 147 (+3). She is four strokes behind the individual leader, Sophia Popov of top-ranked USC. In the second round, Martinez had two birdies, but also finished with four bogeys, to card a 2-over 74.

Junior Rochelle Chan also had a strong second round as she recorded a 5-over 77 to move up eight spots into a tie for 47th (15-over 159).

Sophomore Chaewon Park (T66th) and senior Simone Hoey (T72nd) both shot an 11-over 83, while freshman Kassidy Teare had a score of 84 (+12). Teare, who was tied for 40th after the first round, dropped into a tie for 57th.

The final round of the 2013 SDSU Farms Invitational will take place on Tuesday, April 2.
