RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - The Long Beach State women's golf team shot a 29-over 317 over the course of 18 holes to tie for 11th after the first round of the 2013 SDSU Farms Invitational Sunday at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.

Freshman Shawnee Martinez led the way for LBSU, carding a 1-over 73 to sit in a tie for fourth. After a bogey on her first hole, Martinez settled in and made par the rest of the way.

Freshman Kassidy Teare is also tied for 40th at 7-over 79, while junior Rochelle Chan is tied for 58th at 82 (+10). Teare and Chan both had a team-high two birdies on Sunday.

Rounding out the team scoring for the 49ers were Chaewon Park, who is tied for 66th (83) and senior Simone Hoey, who is tied for 74th (87).

Sophomore Bow-Kay Salotti is also competing as an individual and is tied for 58th at 10-over 82.

No. 1 USC is at the top of the leaderboard after 18 holes with a score of 10-over 298.

Long Beach State is back in action on Monday, April 1, with the second round of the SDSU Farms Invitational. The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday (April 2).
