Park, Teare Lead 49ers On First Day At Anuenue Spring Break Classic

KAPALUA, Hawai'i - Junior Chaewon Park and sophomore Kassidy Teare shot a 76, tying for 26th place in Monday's opening round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic to lead the Long Beach State women's golf team to 11th at the Kapalua Bay Course.
LBSU posted a 21-over-par 309 to finish day one one shot behind Fresno State in 10th and two strokes behind tournament host Hawai'i and Oregon State tied for eighth.
Tenth-ranked Washington and No. 15 Pepperdine leads the field of 15 teams with a 2-over 290 as both teams holds a six shot lead over San Jose State (+8) in third.
Park posted three birdies and nine pars while Teare recorded two birdies and 10 pars for the round.
Sophomore Janelle Sua tied for 63rd with an 81.
Three players sits on top of the leaderboard at 2-under 70, leading the field of 88 players by one shot over two players tied for fourth.
Second round play continues on Tuesday morning at 10:45 (PST), with the 49ers paired with Fresno State, Hawai'i and UC Riverside on holes 9-12.
