Long Beach State women's basketball to host 3-on-3 Hoopfest
Aug. 22, 2012 CLICK HERE to register your Hoopfest Team LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State women's basketball team will host the first-ever Hoopfest, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for all ages and skill levels, at the Walter Pyramid on Saturday, October 20. All proceeds from Hoopfest will directly benefit scholarship and operational costs for the 49er women's basketball team. Registration for Hoopfest is now open. Participants will be able to field teams of 3-4 players to participate in the double-elimination brackets. There will be seven divisions to choose from for both male and female players, as well as two co-ed divisions, with each division having a different start time throughout the day. Participation in multiple divisions is allowed and encouraged to all players. Games will be played in a half-court format. The first team to 20 total points, or whoever is winning after 15 minutes of play, will advance in their respective bracket. All participants must register online or by calling (562) 985-2210. Waivers, which will be provided by Long Beach State Athletics after registration, must also be signed to participate on the day of Hoopfest.
