49er Women's Basketball Participates in #Chillin4Charity Cold Water Challenge
LBSU helps raise money and awareness for Kay Yow Cancer Fund

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State women's basketball team accepted the #Chillin4Charity Cold Water Challenge in front of the Walter Pyramid on Saturday to help raise money and awareness for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
LBSU head coach Jody Wynn, assistant coaches Derek Wynn, Jeff Cammon and Kari LaPlante, point guard Anna Kim, forward Thaddesia Southall and forward Madison Montgomery, all answered challenges from coaches and players at Hawai'i, Kansas, Wyoming and New Mexico State. The 49ers also issued a few challenges of their own.
Once challenged on Twitter, each coach or player has 48 hours to respond. Any head coach that does not answer the challenge owes the Kay Yow Foundation $250. For each head coach that does answer the challenge, the original challenger will owe $50. Assistant coaches also raise money with their participation, while student-athletes will give back through community service.
The #Chillin4Charity Cold Water Challenge is an initiative that was started by the women's basketball staff at the University of Arizona on June 9 as a fundraiser for the Kay Yow Foundation. The complete rules of the Cold Water Challenge can be found here.
