All proceeds from the game will benefit the LBSU women's basketball program.

LONG BEACH - The Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA will host a preseason exhibition game at the Walter Pyramid on Sunday, May 12. Tip-off between the Sparks and the Seattle Storm will be at 1:00 p.m. 2013.
All proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit the Long Beach State women's basketball program, which has close ties to the Sparks organization.
Penny Toler, the Sparks' Executive VP/General Manager, was a star for the 49ers in the late 1980's, leading the team to two NCAA Final Four appearances (1987 and 1988). She still holds several school records and was honored as a Kodak All-American and conference player of the year.
"The fact that Penny is still thinking of ways to help our women's basketball program grow is amazing," said 49er Women's Basketball Head Coach Jody Wynn. "It shows the commitment from our alumni to bring back the tradition at Long Beach State and means a lot to our 49er family."
Toler's impressive collegiate career at Long Beach State was recognized in a Hall of Fame ceremony in 1995 and a jersey retirement ceremony in 2007 by the 49er Athletic Club and Long Beach State Athletics Department.
While scoring a total of 2,193 points while lacing it up as a 49er, Toler is also credited with scoring the first basket in WNBA history.
