Figueroa invited to Los Angeles Sparks training camp

LONG BEACH - Long Beach State senior women's basketball player Karina Figueroa has been invited to the Los Angeles Sparks training camp beginning April 25. Figueroa, who is looking to earn a spot on the roster, participated in the team's pre-draft training camp earlier this month. The Sparks will play a preseason game against San Antonio at the Walter Pyramid on May 8, before officially opening the 2010 campaign at Phoenix on May 15. Figueroa recently closed out a stellar four-year career at The Beach. The four-time All-Big West selection leaves LBSU ranked among the all-time leaders in points (1,517), points per game (14.7 ppg), 3-point field goals made (115), 3-point FG percentage (34.1 percent), free throws made (364) and free throw percentage (79.0 percent).
