Moorer leads 49ers to 62-61 win over Cal State Fullerton on Senior Night
Senior Tipesa Moorer saved one of her best performances for her final game at the Walter Pyramid as she led the Long Beach State women's basketball team to a thrilling 62-61 victory over Cal State Fullerton in front of a crowd of 1,039 Thursday evening.

The Long Beach State women's basketball team will be looking to snap a three-game skid when it entertains Cal State Fullerton in a 4 p.m. Big West tilt at the Walter Pyramid on Saturday, Jan. 19.

Fans can follow the 49ers all season long with every women's basketball game being broadcast live via Stretch Internet Radio on Tyler Hendrickson is LBSU's play-by-play announcer.

Cal State Fullerton (7-9, 2-1 Big West) has won its last two games, including a 65-51 triumph over UC Irvine on Thursday, Jan. 17. Chante Miles is tops on the team with 12.9 points and 3.7 assists per outing, while Kathleen Iwuoha is the Titans' leading rebounder (7.7 rpg).

Long Beach State leads in its all-time series with Cal State Fullerton, 63-38. The 49ers snapped a six-game losing streak to the Titans in their second meeting last year as LBSU prevailed 62-61 at the Walter Pyramid on March 1, 2012.

A 49er victory over Cal State Fullerton on Saturday will mean:
- LBSU posts its third double-figure win campaign in the last four years. The 49ers had not reached the 10-victory plateau in three-straight seasons (2006-09) before Coach Wynn's arrival.
- LBSU snaps a three-game skid and evens its Big West record at 3-3.
- LBSU wins its second in a row in the series vs. Cal State Fullerton and improves to 64-38 all-time against the Titans.

Long Beach State saw its five-game home win streak snapped on Thursday when it dropped a narrow 50-49 decision to UC Riverside at the Walter Pyramid. The Highlanders made the game-winning free throw with two seconds on the clock.

The 49ers, who led by as many as 13 in the first half, found themselves down by five with under seven minutes remaining. LBSU slowly chipped away and tied it up at 49-49 on a put back by Devin Hudson with six seconds to go, but UCR's Tre'Shonti Nottingham quickly made her way up the court and drew a foul with two ticks on the clock. She made her first free throw to secure the 50-49 win.

Hudson led Long Beach State with her fourth double-double of the year, and second in the last three games. She totaled 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, with nine of her boards coming on the offensive glass. Hudson also had a career-best four steals.

The 49ers struggled on offense with a season-low 24.6 field goal percentage. They did, however, own a plus-20 margin on the boards with a season-high 53 rebounds.

Dating back to last year, LBSU has won 18 of its last 24 games at the Walter Pyramid. The 49ers are 8-3 this season as they saw their five-game home winning streak come to an end with a loss to UC Riverside on Thursday. Their last home defeat had come against Santa Clara on Dec. 9. All three of Long Beach State's losses at the Walter Pyramid have been decided in the final seconds.

Long Beach State, which has won the battle on the boards seven times this season, outrebounded UC Riverside, 53-33, on Thursday. The 49ers' 53 rebounds were a season best, and the plus-20 margin was their largest since holding a 57-35 edge over Seattle on Feb. 4, 2011. LBSU also posted a double-figure advantage on the boards against Columbia (50-34) and Arizona (43-27) this year.

Sophomore Devin Hudson has registered a team-best four double-doubles on the season, with two of those coming in the last three games. Most recently, she totaled 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds vs. UC Riverside, and had 11 points and 12 boards at Cal State Northridge. The Ontario, Calif., native also accomplished the feat against Arizona (10 pts, 12 rebs) and Columbia (14 pts, 11 rebs) in non-conference action. In addition, Hudson registered a career-best 16 points to go along with nine boards at Hawai'i. Hudson, who has seven career double-doubles, has led LBSU on the glass in 11 of the last 13 games, corralling at least 10 rebounds six times during that span. She is averaging 10.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in Big West contests.
