49er fans can get a first-hand look at the team as they continue to prepare for their season opener

Lauren Kawahara enters her third year as the director of operations for the Long Beach State women's basketball program.

In her second season as the director of operations, the 49ers advanced to the Big West Tournament championship game for the first time in 11 years. LBSU finished the campaign with a 14-18 overall record, marking the most wins by a 49er squad since the 2005-06 season.

Kawahara served as a student manager for the Long Beach State women's basketball team in 2009-10. She assisted with all team management duties at practices and games, while also working closely with the coaching staff on the recruitment database and other administrative tasks.

During her time as a student at LBSU, Kawahara also worked as an event management supervisor and marketing intern.

Kawahara has coached girls' basketball for the past four years, serving as a head coach for South Bay Friends of Richard (F.O.R.) and as an assistant head coach for the girls' varsity team at Harbor Teacher Prep Academy (2007-09). In addition, she created and directed a basketball camp for the Healthy-Start program at 186th Street Elementary School in Gardena.

Kawahara graduated from Long Beach State with a bachelor's degree in operations management and management in 2010.
