No. 6 Long Beach State Enters GCC Tournament As No. 2 Seed
LBSU will have first round bye to start GCC tournament play.
Long Beach, Calif. — After a huge win against No. 7 UC Irvine Friday night, No. 6 Long Beach State will enter the Golden Coast Conference Tournament as the No. 2-seed.
The Beach got some help on their way to the No. 2-seed when No. 8 UC Santa Barbara defeated No. 10 Pepperdine Friday night.
As the No. 2-seed LBSU (14-11, 3-2) will get a first round bye as they await the winner of UCSB and UCI which will be played Friday night.
The No. 1-seed is Pacific who will face the winner of No. 11 San Jose State and Pepperdine.
The Beach will play in the semifinal Saturday night at 6 p.m.
If the LBSU wins they will advance to the GCC Championship game Sunday at 5 p.m. If they lose they will play in the third-place game that will be Sunday at 3 p.m.
UC Irvine will host the tournament and the first 200 Long Beach State Students to arrive will be be given free tickets.
