Long Beach State Has Four Players Earn All-Golden Coast Honors

Long Beach, Calif. — Long Beach State Men’s Water Polo had four athletes recognized for their performance this season by being named All-Golden Coast by the conference on Wednesday.

Senior center Duncan Lynde was named to the First-Team All-GCC team. Lynde finished the regular season with 31 goals while posting a team-best .554 shot percentage. In GCC play, Lynde scored five goals.

It was the second time Lynde was named to the All-GCC team after earning second team honors in 2016.

Following Lynde, was redshirt sophomore Austin Stewart who was named to the All-GCC Second Team. Stewart led the Beach with 48 goals during the regular season. In conference play, Stewart scored 11 goals.

Along with Stewart, junior Austin Stevenson earned All-GCC Honorable Mention honors. This season, Stevenson scored 25 goals for the Beach.

It was Stevenson’s second All-GCC award after being named to All-GCC Second Team last season.

Rounding out the awards was freshman Marwan Darwish, who was named to the GCC All-Freshmen Team.

Darwish played in seven games and started two times. He posted a 3-1 record while tallying 39 saves.
