Water Polo Drops Tough 5-4 Decision Against UC Santa Barbara
Long Beach State held well defensively and mounted a late fourth-quarter comeback, tying the game with No. 6 UC Santa Barbara at 4-4. However, Matt Gronow of the Gauchos scored in the closing seconds to hand the 49ers a 5-4 loss.

In that last meeting, Long Beach State received three goals from both Devin Mefford and Zacchary Kappos, as the 49ers rallied to force overtime before dominating the extra time, outscoring the Anteaters 4-1 in the additional periods.

After the team's trip down the 405, Long Beach State returns to the Campus Pool for the team's second home game of the season, hosting No. 6 UC Santa Barbara.
