No. 6 Long Beach State Comes Home To Open GCC Play

Long Beach, Calif. — After nearly a month on the road, the No. 6 Long Beach State men’s water polo team returns home to open Golden Coast Conference play against No. 5 Pacific Saturday at 7 p.m. at Lindgren Aquatics Center.

It will be the third time LBSU (9-5) takes on the Tigers (11-2) this season and with Pacific winning the previous two matches.

The Beach is coming off a 2-2 performance at the Mountain Pacific Invitational with wins against No. 6 UC Irvine and No. 11 Princeton.

Senior Duncan Lynde led the way for LBSU scoring nine goals over the weekend. Along with Lynde, Austin Stewart and Nemanja Bakic lead the way for the offense with 25 and 21 goals, respectively.

In goal, junior Thomas Freeman (5-5) leads the way with 44 saves while having a .454 save percentage.

Last weekend, Pacific went 3-1 at the Mountain Pacific Invitational with wins against UC San Diego, Pepperdine and LBSU.

Luke Pavillard and Engin Ege Colak lead the team with both scoring 39 goals this season.
