Long Beach, Calif. - Men's Water Polo will open its home schedule this Friday when the 49ers host No. 11 Princeton at 7 p.m. in the Campus Pool. The game is the designated "Gold Game" for the 49ers, as No. 7 Long Beach State looks to defeat the unbeaten Tigers.

Long Beach State enters the weekend with a record of 9-3, and will play the sole home match before entering into two more non-conference tournament prior to the beginning of MPSF play. The Tigers, meanwhile, went 3-0 while hosting a tournament in the first weekend, and then beat Navy, Johns Hopkins, and George Washington in a trip to the Washington D.C. area to account for their 6-0 record.

The 49ers are led in scoring by a pair of sophomores in Zacchary Kappos and Nolan McConnell. Each have started all 12 games thus far for the 49ers, with Kappos scoring 22 goals over that time, including a career-high five in a win over Loyola Marymount, while McConnell has chipped in 20 goals, an average of 1.67 per game.

Defensively, the 49ers have turned to sophomore Pavo Kjepopio, who after transferring from Notre Dame College has averaged 10.50 saves per game, while posting a Goals Allowed Average of 8.11 while playing against the 49ers' best competition.

Following Friday's match with Princeton, the 49ers will also host their annual Alumni Game on Saturday at Noon in the Campus Pool, welcoming back former 49ers to test the current squad in what is always a fun event.
