Matulis, White, and Rascon earn ACWPC All-American honors

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Junior Dan Matulis earned 2nd-team ACWPC All-American honors while senior Spencer White and Junior Nick Rascon both earned honorable mention. This marks the 18th year in a row that a member of the men's water polo team has earned all-american honors.

Matulis becomes the first 49er since 2005 to garner 2nd-team all-american honors. The Milford, Ohio native led Long Beach State with 69 goals and a 2.16 goals per game average. Matulis also finished the season scoring multiple goals in 23 games for LBSU.

Rascon tabs his second honorable mention honors having received in his freshman campaign. The junior played in 22 matches for the 49ers and finished with 24 goals. Rascon led Long Beach State to a thrilling win over then No. 19 Cal Baptist with the game-winning goal with 10 seconds remaining.

White, a transfer from Cal, in his only season with the 49ers earns his first all-american honors. The senior finished last season with 63 goals, good for second on the team. The Mission Viejo, Calif., product had a team-high seven goals in a 22-7 win over Occidental.
