Sophomore Nick Rascon was one of two 49ers selected to the All-Academic Team for 2011

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The 2011 men's water polo Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Team was announced featuring two players from Long Beach State.

Sophomore Nick Rascon, an attacker from Laguna Hills, Calif., was selected to the All- Academic team for his 3.156 GPA.

Barry Snyder, a junior attacker from Simi Valley, Calif., was the other player selected for LBSU. He is a kinesiology major studying exercise science.

These two student athletes met the four qualifications by being at least a sophomore with a 3.0 cumulative GPA, attending Long Beach State for one complete year prior to the season, and competing in fifty percent of the matches during the season.

Rascon finished the season with 32 goals in 21 games for the 49ers, while Snyder totaled 10 goals in 19 appearances.
