Stockton, Calif. - Long Beach State lost its final MPSF match of the year against Pacific 11-6 at Chris Kjeldsen Pool.
LBSU trailed 4-3 after the first period and was down only two scores at halftime. The Pacific Tigers (12-11, 2-6) blew open the game in the third period, and led 9-4 entering the final period.
In the 4th quarter, the 49ers (16-10, 1-7) were unable to rally and win the game.
Matthew Kubeck stopped six shots in the contest.
Alex Malkis had 14 saves in the victory for Pacific.
The loss eliminated LBSU from the MPSF conference tournament and gives Pacific the final berth in the tournament. The 49ers season finishes with the tough loss in Northern California.
