Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State defeats Air Force 12-7 in a non-conference battle at the Campus Pool. The 49ers defeat the Falcons for the third time this season.

Nick Rascon had a first half hat trick on his way to four scores on the day. Devin Mefford totaled three goals across the final four periods.

Long Beach State improves to 14-9, 1-5 while Air Force drops to a 8-16, 5-7.

The Falcons closed the gap to a 6-4 lead before the halftime intermission. Air Force tied the game 6-6 with 3:48 remaining in the third quarter before Long Beach State rattled off four straight scores to end the period.

Long Beach State came out scoring early in the game, leading 3-1 after the first quarter.

The 49ers added two more goals in the fourth quarter to seal the 12-7 victory. John Mroch totaled a career-high 10 saves in the match.

Five different 49ers scored for Long Beach State. Brian Schiefer and Dan Matulis both scored a pair of goals with Aleksandar Petrovic's single goal completing the scoring for LBSU.

Long Beach State will host UCLA (17-3, 3-1) on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., in the final home game for the 49ers this season.
