No. 7 Long Beach State Falls To No. 9 Pepperdine

Malibu, Calif. — Going up against No. 9 Pepperdine, No. 7 Long Beach State’s offense stalled as they lost on the road 10-5.
In the first quarter, the Waves (14-8, 1-0 Golden Coast) an early 3-1 lead after the first quarter.
The LBSU (9-8, 0-2 GCC) defense only gave up one goal in the second quarter as the team trailed 4-1 at halftime.
The Beach’s lone goal was from Austin Stevenson in the first quarter.
In the second half, the Waves once again came out with offensive pressure scoring three goals.
Luke Ritter scored in the third to make it 7-2 heading into the final quarter.
In the final quarter, LBSU and the Waves each scored three goals.
