Long Beach State loses to USC in its first MPSF game of the year

Los Angeles, Calif- - The 49ers lost 14-3, at the USC Trojans, in their first MPSF contest of the season. The offensive scoring load was led by Brian Schiefer, Milos Vrzic, and Hayden Leach. The trio scored a single goal a piece for LBSU. The Trojans had six players score two goals each in the win for USC. The Trojans remain atop the MPSF conference with a 2-0 record. Long Beach State drops to 0-1 in conference play, boasting an 11-4 season record. Keeper John Mroch totaled four saves in the game. The Trojans led 6-0 before the 49ers reached the scoreboard. LBSU played a close 3rd quarter, holding USC to a 2-1 scoring edge. All three of the Long Beach State goals came in the second half. The 49ers will host the Cal Bears on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the campus pool.
