No. 6 Beach Finishes Up Play At Aggie Roundup

Davis, Calif. -- In the final day of the Aggie Roundup, the No. 6 Long Beach State men's water polo team split its games against Whittier and No. 2 USC.

The Beach put on an offensive show Sunday morning beating Whittier 20-5.

In the first quarter LBSU jumped out to a 4-1 lead with goals from Max Cusator, Duncan Lynde, Luke Ritter and Austin Stewart.

With freshman Marwan Darwish in goal, the freshman had one save in the first quarter.

The Beach (7-3) continued its dominance in the second quarter outscoring Whittier 5-3 to take a 9-4 lead at halftime.

The Beach had 11 players score in the game with Austin Stevenson, Jacob Fujioka and Andrew Goodenough scored once while, Cusator and Lynde scored their second goals of the game.

Sophomore Nemanja Bakic had an impressive third quarter scoring three of his four goals as the Beach shutout Whitter 5-0 to take a 14-4 lead.

LBSU finished the game scoring six goals in the fourth quarter. Curtis Casper, Troy Kaltenbach and Keegan Wicken each netted their first goal of the game.



Against No.2-ranked USC (9-0), the Beach battled in the first score to trail the Trojans 3-2 after the first quarter.

In the final three quarters USC outscored LBSU 10-3 to take the win. Lynde and Bakic led the way for the Beach scoring four of the team's five goals.
