Ian Satterfield Named to MPSF Men's Volleyball All-Academic Team
Senior opposite earns fourth career all-academic honor

LONG BEACH - Long Beach State senior Ian Satterfield has been named to the 2014 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Men's Volleyball All-Academic Team the conference office announced Tuesday.
Satterfield, a 6-foot-5 opposite, started all but three matches in 2014, averaging 2.25 kills, 1.54 digs and 0.76 blocks per set. The Manhattan Beach, Calif., native reached double figures in kills seven times and finished with three double-doubles. His first double-double came in the second meeting at Hawai'i (10 kills, 12 digs), while he also accomplished the feat vs. BYU (12 kills, 10 digs) and vs. UC Santa Barbara (16 kills, 10 digs). Satterfield added a career-high seven blocks against the Gauchos, and also tallied a career-best 19 kills in a 3-2 win over then No. 1 Pepperdine.
Satterfield graduated last week with a bachelor's degree in marketing. This is his fourth all-academic honor.
To be eligible for the MPSF All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year at their institution and must have competed in a minimum of 50 percent of the team's competition.
