Taylor Crabb garners All-MPSF recognition
Sophomore outside hitter averaging 2.77 kills and 1.92 digs per set

LONG BEACH - Sophomore Taylor Crabb (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou HS) was named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Second Team the conference office announced Thursday.
Crabb leads the 49ers with 291 kills (2.77 k/s) and is second on the squad with 202 digs. His 1.92 digs per set average is also tops on the team and ranks 10th in the MPSF.
The 6-foot outside hitter has registered 15 double-figure kill matches with a season-best 20-kill effort at Hawaii on March 31. He also has a team-high seven double-doubles, including three-straight from Feb. 10-14. Crabb had 16 kills and 11 digs vs. UCLA, 14 kills and 11 digs vs. Pacific and 13 kills and 11 digs vs. Stanford. Earlier in the year, he totaled 15 kills and a career-high 14 digs at Pepperdine (Jan. 14).
Crabb was an All-MPSF honorable mention and All-Freshman Team selection last year. He was also named to the MPSF All-Tournament Team after leading LBSU to the semifinals.
USC's Tony Ciarelli was tabbed the 2012 MPSF Player of the Year and Micah Christenson earned MPSF Freshman of the Year honors.
Long Beach State begins playoffs this weekend when it heads to BYU for an MPSF Tournament quarterfinal match on Saturday, April 21, at 6 p.m. (PDT). The game will be aired live on BYUtv.
