Taylor Crabb Named MPSF/Molten Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

LONG BEACH - Senior outside hitter Taylor Crabb (Honolulu, Hawaii) has been named the MPSF/Molten Men's Volleyball Player of the Week the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced Monday afternoon.
Crabb led Long Beach State to a thrilling 25-14, 21-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11 victory over then No. 1 Pepperdine on Friday, Jan. 24. He finished with a career-high tying 24 kills and a season-best 13 digs, marking his second double-double in three outings. Crabb also compiled five blocks and a match-high .365 hitting percentage against the Waves.
Earlier in the week, Crabb tied for the team lead with 11 kills in a loss to then No. 4 USC. He committed just one error on 33 swings for a .303 clip.
Over the two matches, Crabb averaged 4.38 kills, 2.00 digs and 0.62 blocks per set, while hitting .341 (35-6-85).
This is the second career weekly honor for Crabb and the first for Long Beach State this season. Crabb also earned the award on Jan. 21, 2013.
Crabb and the sixth-ranked 49ers return to action this weekend when they head to No. 7 Stanford (Jan. 31) and Pacific (Feb. 1).
