LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State men's volleyball team swept Douglas College (Canada), 25-14, 25-18, 25-19, in an international exhibition match Tuesday at the Walter Pyramid.

LBSU hit .349 on the evening, while holding the Royals to a .128 attack percentage. The 49ers also owned a lopsided 12.5-to-3.0 advantage in team blocks.

Senior Dalton Ammerman led the 49ers with nine kills, nine digs and seven blocks. Junior Chris van Vuuren finished with seven kills on .400 hitting, while senior Ian Satterfield totaled seven kills and four digs.

Sophomore Taylor Gregory added six kills and no errors on seven swings for a match-high .857 hitting percentage. He also had five blocks. Senior Jeff Ornee chipped in five kills (.444) and three blocks, and classmate Connor Olbright directed the offense with 30 assists.

Andrew McWilliam paced Douglas College with 12 kills and four digs.

Long Beach State will host two more exhibition matches against UBC Okanagan (11 a.m.) and the UBC Thunderbirds (5 p.m.) on Thursday, Jan. 2, before opening the regular season at the UCSB Asics Invitational, Jan. 3-4.
