LONG BEACH - Kevin Lee fired a 14-under-par 274 to tie for 10th place at the 24th Annual Long Beach Open on Sunday to win as top amateur at El Dorado Park Golf Course.
Lee fired rounds of 68 for his first three rounds until closing out the tournament with a 70. The soon-to-be junior was among seven amateurs and 60 professional golfers that made the cut after 36 holes.
The four-day, 72-hole tournament was contested at El Dorado Park and Skylinks Golf Courses that was hosted by American Golf and the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine.
"This is my first time playing (in the Open)," Lee said. "And for me to come out and become the low-scoring amateur is an honor."
