FIRST TEE
The Long Beach State men's golf team is set to play at the 2014 Big West Conference Men's Golf Championship, Apr. 27-29, at par-72, 7,137-yard The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is scheduled to begin on Sunday with opening round tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m., followed by second round play on Monday and the final 18 holes concluding on Tuesday. LBSU is the No. 5 seed and will be paired with No. 4 Cal Poly and No. 6 UC Santa Barbara and will start the morning off at 8:20 a.m. from the first tee.

BIG WEST FIELD
LBSU will be among a nine-team field that features No. 1 seed Cal State Fullerton, No. 2 UC Davis, No. 3 UC Irvine, Cal Poly, UCSB, No. 7 Hawai'I, No. 8 UC Riverside and No. 9 Cal State Northridge.

STARTING FIVE
Juniors JJ Holen and Kevin Techakanokboon, sophomores Daniel Chian and Kevin Lee and freshman Agostino Milazzo will represent the 49ers at the Big West Championship.

LAST YEAR IN SOBOBA SPRINGS
LBSU will looking to improve from its fifth-place performance at last year's Big West Conference Championship where the 49ers completed the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 30-over-par 894. The 49ers posted rounds of 297, 296 and 301 to finish two shots behind UCSB (+28) in fourth and four strokes behind UC Davis (+26) in third. Former 49er Philip Chian led the way for LBSU, tying for eighth at 5-over, while younger brother and sophomore Daniel Chian tied for 11th at 6-over.

49ERS CLOSES REGULAR-SEASON WITH TOURNAMENT WIN
LBSU closed out the 2013-14 regular-season campaign winning the OGIO-UCSB Intercollegiate team title at Sandpiper Golf Course in Santa Barbara. This was the second consecutive time LBSU has won the OGIO-UCSB Intercollegiate as the 49ers won the event two years ago (tournament was not played last year). Sophomore Kevin Lee was the top player for the 49ers, placing fourth at 1-under, followed by fellow classmate Daniel Chian tied for fifth at even-par.

LBSU PLACES 14TH IN PACIFIC NORTHWEST
The 49ers are coming off from a disappointing 14th place finish at the 17-team Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash. LBSU completed the 54-hole tournament at 48-over-par 892. Junior JJ Holen and sophomore Kevin Lee led the way for the 49ers, tying for 51st at 12-over 223.

LEE WINS DEL WAKER INTERCOLLEGIATE 
LBSU is coming off from a fourth-place finish at the 18th Del Walker Intercollegiate Golf Classic in Long Beach. The host-49ers completed the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 2-under-par 838, finishing two shots behind team champion Minnesota (-4). LBSU posted the lowest score of the tournament with a 10-under 270 in the final round at Virginia Country Club. Sophomore Kevin Lee led the field of 64 players, capturing individual medalist to record his first career tournament win. Lee finished with an 8-under 202, posting rounds of 69, 70 and 63.

LEE PACES 49ERS IN HAWAI'I 
For the third consecutive tournament, sophomore Kevin Lee was the top player for LBSU, tying for 23rd at the rain shortened John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawai'i. Final round play was cancelled due to inclement weather and the tournament was shortened to 36-holes. The 49ers tied for eighth with No. 36 UNLV at 8-over 584. Lee finished at 1-over 145.

THREE YEARS IN A ROW 
LBSU kicked off the spring season winning the 34th Anteater Invitational for the third consecutive year. The 49ers completed the 54-hole tournament at 17-over-par 869 to win by four strokes over tournament host UC Irvine and Sacramento State tied for second at 21-over. Kevin Lee was the top player for LBSU as he tied for second with a 1-under 212, finishing just two shots behind first.

BEACH CLOSES FALL SEASON AT PACIFIC 
The 49ers closed out the fall season with a fourth-place finish at the 12-team Pacific Invitational in Stockton, Calif. LBSU carded a three-round score of 9-under-par 843 after recording rounds of 287, 281 and 275. Sophomore Kevin Lee led the way for LBSU with his best peformance as a 49er, tying for second with an 8-under 205. Lee turned in the tournament's lowest score of 62 in the final round at the Stockton Country Club. It also surpassed his previous career low of 66.

CHIAN WINS BILL CULLUM INVITATIONAL 
Sophomore Daniel Chian captured the individual medalist at the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Country Club in Simi Valley. This was Chian's first career tournament win as the Covina native won by one shot with a 10-under-par 206. LBSU tied for seventh in the 20-team field with an 11-over 875.

LBSU TAKES 10TH IN OHIO 
The 49ers are coming off a 10th place finish at the 12-team Jack Nicklaus Invitational in Columbus, Ohio. LBSU posted a 54-hole score of 55-over 907 (300-300-307) to finish nine shots ahead of Ball State in 11th and 11 strokes over North Carolina in 12th. Daniel Chian led the way for the 49ers, placing 26th with a 10-over 223, followed by fellow classmate Kevin Lee tying for 25th (+13) and JJ Holen finishing in 43rd (+18).

LBSU BEGINS SEASON AT SAINT MARY'S INVITATIONAL 
The 49ers started off the 2013-14 campaign at the Saint Mary's Invitational in Seaside, Calif. LBSU finished in 12th place (19 teams) at 37-over-par 901 (305-288-308). Sophomore Kevin Lee was the top player for the 49ers, tying for 19th with a 54-hole score of 5-over 221, highlighted by a career-low 66 in the second round to post his first top-20 finish of the year. Junior JJ Holen tied for 25th with a 7-over 223 (79-69-75).
