Men's Golf Set to Compete in 2018 Wyoming Cowboy Classic

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Following a strong fourth-place finish it their previous tournament, Men's Golf is looking to use that momentum as they head into the 2018 Wyoming Cowboy Classic. The two-day tournament is set to take place at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz.

The 15-team field will kick off the tournament on Monday, April 9, with two rounds (36 holes), while a final round of 18 holes is played on Tuesday, April 10.

Long Beach State is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational. The fourth-place finish marked the third consecutive tournament the Beach has placed within the Top Five.

Hunter Reed looks to build upon his success at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational. Reed shot a 218, five-over par for the tournament and finished tied for seventh. This marked the second consecutive tournament, and first time in Reed's collegiate career, placing within the Top 10.

Joe Fryer, recently named Big West Golfer of the Month, moved up 10 positions on the leaderboard following a card of 72, one-over par his final round of the tournament. Fryer completed the competition tied for 12th place.

The field for the 2018 Wyoming Cowboy Classic will be represented by Long Beach State, Wyoming, Air Force, Gonzaga, Houston Baptist, McNeese State, Sam Houston State, Southern Utah, Texas State, University of Texas, San Antonio, Utah State, Utah Valley, Wichita State and Big West opponent Cal State Fullerton. Arizona and Arizona State will also have individuals participating in the tournament.
