Men's Golf Travels North To Compete In Sacramento State Invitational
Long Beach will partake in the two-day event starting Monday.
Long Beach, Calif. - Men's Golf continues their season as they head to the state capital to compete in the sixth annual Sacramento State Invitational. The field will consist of 12 teams competing at the Valley Hi Country Club in Sacramento, Calif.
The tournament will begin with two rounds (36 holes) on Monday, March 5, and concludes with a single round on Tuesday, March 6.
Coming off a 14th place finish at the Southwestern Invitational, Long Beach State looks to turn their play around collectively. After a tough first round finish, Junior Andres Gonzalez bounced back and shot one-under (71) for his second round of the tournament. Gonzalez led Long Beach State for the tournament finishing eight-over par and tied for 24th place. Senior Nick Cantlay also had a strong outing for his second round finishing at two-under (70). Cantlay ended the tournament 13-over par and tied for 39th place.
The field for the Sacramento State Invitational will be represented by host Sacramento State, Long Beach State, British Columbia, Omaha, Weber State, Pacific, Southern Utah, defending team champion Grand Canyon, and Big West opponents UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine.
There will be live scoring at www.golfstat.com. Each day's round is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. PT.
