The Long Beach State men's golf is set to host the 18th Del Walker Intercollegiate Golf Classic, Mar. 3-4, at the par-70, 6,582-yard Virginia Country Club in Long Beach. First and second round action will begin with an 8:30 a.m. (PST) shotgun start on Monday (Mar. 3), with the final round play scheduled for an 8 a.m. (PST) tee times on Tuesday (Mar. 4) from the first and 10th tees. LBSU will be paired with Arizona and Colorado State for the first two rounds and will start from the first tee.
DEL WALKER FIELD
The 49ers will be among an 11-team field that features Arizona (Pac-12), Cal State Fullerton (Big West), Cal State Northridge (Big West), Colorado State (Mountain West), Denver (Western Athletic), Grand Canyon (Western Athletic), Kansas State (Big 12), Wichita State (Missouri Valley) and UC Santa Barbara (Big West).
Live scoring of the 18th Del Walker Intercollegiate will be available on Golfstat.com.
Junior JJ Holen and Kevin Techakanokboon, sophomores Daniel Chian and Kevin Lee and freshman Agostino Milazzo will represent the 49ers at the Del Walker Intercollegiate. Freshman Andrew Stanfield will play as an individual.

The 49ers are currently ranked at 98th in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings and 101st in Golfstat.
LAST YEAR AT VIRGINIA
The 49ers overcame an eight-shot deficit at last year's Del Walker Intercollegiate Golf Classic final round to win the team title at Virginia Country Club. LBSU recorded a tournament low 274 to finish with a 54-hole score of 2-under par 838. The 49ers were the only team in the tournament to finish under par. The tournament host held a three-stroke lead over second-place Pacific as the Tigers finished at 1-over. Former 49er Raymond Ho tied for fifth with an even-210, followed by JJ Holen in eighth and Daniel Chian and Kevin Lee tied for 13th.
LEE PACES 49ERS IN HAWAI'I
For the third consecutive tournament, sophomore Kevin Lee was the top player for LBSU, tying for 23rd at the rain shortened John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawai'i. Final round play was cancelled due to inclement weather and the tournament was shortened to 36-holes. The 49ers tied for eighth with No. 36 UNLV at 8-over 584. Lee finished at 1-over 145.
THREE YEARS IN A ROW
LBSU kicked off the spring season winning the 34th Anteater Invitational for the third consecutive year. The 49ers completed the 54-hole tournament at 17-over-par 869 to win by four strokes over tournament host UC Irvine and Sacramento State tied for second at 21-over. Kevin Lee was the top player for LBSU as he tied for second with a 1-under 212, finishing just two shots behind first.
BEACH CLOSES FALL SEASON AT PACIFIC
The 49ers closed out the fall season with a fourth-place finish at the 12-team Pacific Invitational in Stockton, Calif. LBSU carded a three-round score of 9-under-par 843 after recording rounds of 287, 281 and 275. Sophomore Kevin Lee led the way for LBSU with his best peformance as a 49er, tying for second with an 8-under 205. Lee turned in the tournament's lowest score of 62 in the final round at the Stockton Country Club. It also surpassed his previous career low of 66.
CHIAN WINS BILL CULLUM INVITATIONAL
Sophomore Daniel Chian captured the individual medalist at the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Country Club in Simi Valley. This was Chian's first career tournament win as the Covina native won by one shot with a 10-under-par 206. LBSU tied for seventh in the 20-team field with an 11-over 875.
LBSU TAKES 10TH IN OHIO
The 49ers are coming off a 10th place finish at the 12-team Jack Nicklaus Invitational in Columbus, Ohio. LBSU posted a 54-hole score of 55-over 907 (300-300-307) to finish nine shots ahead of Ball State in 11th and 11 strokes over North Carolina in 12th. Daniel Chian led the way for the 49ers, placing 26th with a 10-over 223, followed by fellow classmate Kevin Lee tying for 25th (+13) and JJ Holen finishing in 43rd (+18).
LBSU BEGINS SEASON AT SAINT MARY'S INVITATIONAL
The 49ers started off the 2013-14 campaign at the Saint Mary's Invitational in Seaside, Calif. LBSU finished in 12th place (19 teams) at 37-over-par 901 (305-288-308). Sophomore Kevin Lee was the top player for the 49ers, tying for 19th with a 54-hole score of 5-over 221, highlighted by a career-low 66 in the second round to post his first top-20 finish of the year. Junior JJ Holen tied for 25th with a 7-over 223 (79-69-75).
BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS TO SOBOBA SPRINGS
For the second consecutive year, the Big West Conference Men's Golf Championship returns to the Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto, Calif. The three-day tournament begins on April 27, with all nine teams competing for the Big West Championship and the automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
