Teckakanokboon ties for 12th place at Cal Poly Invitational

NIPOMO, Calif. - Long Beach State freshman Kevin Teckakanokboon shot a one-over par 72 in Monday's final round of the Firestone Grill Cal Poly Invitational to tie for 12th place.
Teckakanokboon, along with teammates Ben Heisey, Raymond Ho and Matt Fliss were all playing as individuals, saw playing time for the first time this year as last week's season opening Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash., was interrupted by inclement weather.
Teckakanokboon, completed the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 7-over 220, after shooting a 73 and 75 in the first two rounds at the par-71, 6,810 yard Monarch Dunes Golf Course in Nipomo.
Both Heisey and Ho recorded their best rounds of the tournament with a 73 to tie for 27th and 29th respectively. Heisey finished the 54-hole tournament at 11-over after carding a 77 and 74 on Sunday. Ho closed out the tournament at 12-over with a 78 and 74 in the first two rounds.
Fliss shot a final round 80 to tie for 56th (80-76) at 23-over.
LBSU will open the 2011-12 season at The Prestige at PGA WEST, Oct. 9-11, in La Quinta.
