Lee Records Top-20 Finish At Saint Mary's Invitational

SEASIDE, Calif. - Sophomore Kevin Lee led the way for Long Beach State, tying for 19th place at the Saint Mary's Invitational on Tuesday to record his first top-20 finish of the young season.
LBSU fell four spots in the standings from eighth to 12th as the 49ers posted a final round score of 308 to complete the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 37-over-par 901.
California captured the team title as the Golden Bears led the 19-team field with a 10-under 854, winning by a comfortable 20 shots over second-place Oregon (+20) and 22 strokes over San Diego (+22) in third.
Lee carded a final round score of 78 that was highlighted by four birdies, eight bogeys and one double-bogey to finish the season-opening tournament at 5-over 221.
Junior JJ Holen posted a 75 to finish two-shots behind Lee at 7-over to tie for 25th.
Freshman Agostino Milazzo (+21) tied for 92nd after carding an 82.
San Diego's Grant Forrest won individual medalist with a 7-under 209, winning by one-shot over Michael Weaver (-6) of California.
LBSU returns to action Sept. 29-30 for the Jack Nicklaus Invitational hosted by Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
