Raymond Ho tied for second place, one shot behind leader at VCU Shootout
Sept. 24, 2012 MANAKIN-SABOT, Va. - After two rounds of play at the VCU Shootout, Long Beach State senior Raymond Ho is tied for second place, just one shot behind first with a score of 2-under par 142 at the Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot, Va. The Cerritos native sits in a four-way tie for second with final round play concluding on Tuesday. Ho carded a 71 in both rounds, collecting four birdies and three bogeys in the opening round and five bogeys and four bogeys in the second round. LBSU recorded a 296 in both rounds to finish the day in fourth at 16-over 592. Wichita State leads the field of 12 teams at 4-over 580 as the Shockers holds a seven stroke lead over second-place Virginia Tech (+11) and 11 shots over third-place Iowa State (+15). Tournament host VCU sits in 11th (+37). Freshman Daniel Chian is tied for 16th after shooting a 74 in both rounds to finish at 4-over 148. Fellow classmate Kevin Lee tied for 31st at 8-over after carding rounds of 75 and 77. Senior Philip Chian and sophomore JJ Holen are tied for 38th with a 10-over 154. After shooting an opening round 80, Chian made a solid comeback in the afternoon round, improving by six shots for a 74. Holen recorded an opening round 76 to tie for 34th, but came back with a 78 to fall four spots in the standings. Sean Bosdosh of Maryland leads the field of 69 players with a 3-under 141, holding a one shot lead over Ho and three players tied for second. Final round play concludes on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 5:45 a.m. (PST), with LBSU paired with Maryland and Richmond. Live play can be followed on Golfstat.com.
