Gonzalez Ties For 46th To Close Out Season At NCAA Stanford Regional
Sophomore golfer moves up the standings for third straight day
STANFORD, Calif. - Long Beach State sophomore Andres Gonzalez tied for 46th place on Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA Stanford Regional, closing out the 2016-17 campaign at the Stanford Golf Course.
For the second straight round, Gonzalez carded a one-over-par 71 to turn in a 54-hole score of seven-over 217. Gonzalez collected four birdies and five bogeys for the round to move up three spots in the standings.
Travis Trace of North Florida was the top individual player that was not among the top five teams to advance to the NCAA Championship (May 26-31) in Sugar Grove, Ill.
Regional host No. 4 Stanford and No. 9 Baylor tied for first at 17-under, followed by No. 27 Pepperdine (-5) in third, No. 15 Oklahoma (-3) in fourth and No. 33 North Carolina (+3) in fifth.
The Sooners' Brad Dalke won individual medalist by three shots with a 12-under 198.
