Lee Tied For Fifth After Two Rounds At Big West Championship

SAN JACINTO, Calif. - After two rounds of play at the Big West Conference Men's Golf Championship, Long Beach State remains in fourth place after posting a second round score of 292 at The Country Club at Soboba Springs.
LBSU has a 36-hole score of 11-over-par 587, finishing just one shot behind UC Riverside (+10) in third and seven strokes behind UC Davis (+4) in second.
Cal State Fullerton continues to lead the field of nine teams at 2-over, as the Titans holds a two shot lead over the Aggies.
Sophomore Kevin Lee was LBSU's top player for the second straight day, turning in a 2-under 70 to tie for fifth that was highlighted by five birdies and 10 pars, while posting three bogeys. Lee improved by two shots from the first day to stay within five strokes of first.
Junior JJ Holen posted an eight-shot improvement, firing a 69 to jump in the standings from 30th to tie for 12th at 2-over. Holen recorded five birdies for the day, including an eagle on the par-5 16th.
Junior Kevin Techakanokboon is 36th at 9-over.
For the second straight day, the Aggies' Matt Hansen sits on top of the leaderboard at 8-under, leading the field of 45 players by five shots over two players tied for second.
The winning team advances to the NCAA Division I men's regionals which are held at six sites - Auburn University Club (Auburn, Ala.), Lonnie Pool Golf Course (Raleigh, N.C.), The Club at Old Hawthorne (Columbia, Mo.), Briggs Ranch Golf Club (San Antonio, Texas), Eugene Country Clun (Eugene, Ore.), Rich Harvest Farms (Sugar Grove, Ill.). The six-day NCAA Men's Golf Championship is scheduled for May 23-28 at the Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. Selections for the regionals is slated for Monday, May 5 at 7:00 a.m. (PDT) on the Golf Channel.
Final round play concludes on Tuesday with the 49ers teeing off at 7:30 a.m. and will be paired with Hawai'i and UC Irvine.
