49ers Complete Day One At Big West Conference Championship

SAN JACINTO, Calif. - Sophomore Kevin Lee carded an even-72 in the opening round of the Big West Conference Men's Golf Championship, tying for seventh place and leading Long Beach State to tie for fourth at The Country Club at Soboba Springs.
LBSU posted a 7-over-par 295 to tie with Cal State Northridge and remain just five shots behind Hawai'I (+2) in third and six strokes behind UC Davis (+1) in second. Cal State Fullerton leads the nine-team field at 1-under.
Lee recorded two birdies and two bogeys on his first nine holes, making the turn onto the back-nine at even. The La Palma native scored four consecutive pars before making two bogeys on Nos. 14 and 15. Lee would go back to even after recording a birdie on the par-5 16th and 18th holes.
Sophomore Daniel Chian and freshman Agostino Milazzo posted rounds of 74, tying for 15th . Milazzo recorded three birdies on his scorecard that was highlighted by an eagle on his last hole of the day on the par-5 18th.
Junior Kevin Techakanokboon is tied for 20th after shooting a 75, while fellow classmate JJ Holen finished two shots behind with a 77, tying for 30th.
The Aggies' Matt Hansen sits on top of the leaderboard with a 5-under 67, leading the field of 45 players by one shot over the Titans' Mark Anguiano.
Second round action continues on Monday with the 49ers teeing off at 8:20 a.m. from the first tee and will be paired with Gauchos and Mustangs.
