MEADOW VISTA, Calif. - Senior Philip Chian shot a 77 in the final round of the Winchester Classic to tie for 17th place at the Winchester Golf Course on Sunday, leading Long Beach State to seventh.

LBSU fell in the standings after starting the day tied for third with Oklahoma Christian. The 49ers shot a combined score of 306 to finish with a 54-hole score of 28-over par 892.

Cal State Fullerton captured the team title as the Titans (+4) recorded the tournament's lowest round with a 286 to hold off second place host UC Davis (+9) by five shots and nine strokes over Oklahoma Christian (+13) in third. UC Santa Barbara (+16) placed fourth and Sacramento State (+22) finished in fifth.

Sophomore JJ Holen and freshman Kevin Lee tied for 23rd at 8-over 224. Holen carded a 77, while Lee posted a 79 as both players fell in the standings.

Freshman Daniel Chian recorded a 74 to tie for 26th, while senior Raymond Ho closed out the final round with a 79, tying him for 46th.

Sam Johnston of Oklahoma Christian won individual medalist honors with a 7-under, holding a two-shot lead over Glen Scher of UC Santa Barbara in second.

LBSU returns to action Apr. 28-30, traveling to San Jacinto for the Big West Conference Championship at The Country Club at Soboba Springs.
