Joe Fryer Leads the Pack Following Day One at UC Santa Barbara Collegiate

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Joe Fryer currently sits atop the leaderboard with a two-stroke lead following day one at the UC Santa Barbara Collegiate. In round one Fryer, produced a 71, one-under par card and sat in second-place. He shot a 76, four-over par in round two which was the second-best card of the round. Fryer looks to medal for the second time in his past five tournaments.

Niels Andersen ended the first day of the tournament tied for third place after shooting a 151, seven-over par. Andersen’s second round card proved to be the best score of the round. He shot a 75, three-over par, a one stroke improvement from his first-round score.

Nick Cantlay was the third LBSU athlete to finish within the Top 5 following the first day of the tournament. Cantlay is currently tied for fifth-place after shooting a 152, eight-over par.

Collectively, Long Beach State ends the first day of the UC Santa Barbara Collegiate in second-place. The Beach sits only two-strokes behind tournament host UC Santa Barbara. LBSU looks to finish within the Top 5 for the fifth consecutive tournament.
