#LBSU Completes Day One At Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - After two rounds of play at the Redhawk Invitational, the Long Beach State men's golf team is tied for 14th place at Chambers Bay golf course in University Place, Wash.
LBSU posted a two-round score of 26-over-par 586, tying with tournament host Seattle after recording an opening score of 294 and a 292 in the second round.
Fifteenth-ranked UCLA and San Diego leads the field of 18 teams at 4-under as both teams holds a two-shot lead over No. 17 Washington (-2) in second and a five-shot lead over No. 29 Arizona State (+1) in fourth.
Juniors JJ Holen and Kevin Techakanokboon and sophomore Kevin Lee are tied for 40th at 6-over 146. Holen carded an opening round of 76 to tie for 41st, while madding a six-shot improvement in the second round for a 70, while Lee and Techakanokboon recorded a 73 for both rounds.
Grant Forrest of San Diego sits on top of the leaderboard with a 12-under 128, leading the field of 92 players by seven shots.
Final round play concludes on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
