Yokoi has been involved with both men's and women's golf programs at ASU for the past 14 years. Yokoi served as associate head coach of the men's golf team, helping the Sun Devils to five Pacific-10 Conference titles and four regional championships the last nine seasons. He coached several top players, including 2000 U.S. Amateur Champion Jeff Quinney, two-time English Amateur Champion Paul Casey, 2001 U.S. Public Links Champion Chez Reavie, 2003 NCAA Champion Alejandro Canizares and 2009 European Amateur Champion Stephen Gross.
Prior to his stint as associate head coach with the men's golf program at ASU, Yokoi served as the Sun Devils head women's golf coach from 2001-2002. Yokoi guided the women's team to a third-place finish and individual medalist at the 2002 Pac-10 Championships. ASU also recorded the lowest stroke average in the country for the fall season.
Yokoi first joined the Sun Devil men's program in 1997, serving as an assistant
for five seasons before taking the reigns of the women's golf team.
Yokoi was a four-year letterwinner at UCLA, helping the Bruins to the Pac-10
Championship in 1982 with teammates Corey Pavin and Steve Pate. While at UCLA,
Yokoi earned All-America and All Pac-10 honors. Yokoi graduated from UCLA in
1997 with a degree in psychology.
Yokoi and his wife Carole, have two children, son, Justin and daughter, Alyssa.
