Levin Claims Big West Player Of The Week Honors
The senior led the Beach to a pair of wins last week.
Long Beach, Calif. - Senior Gabe Levin was named the Big West Player of the Week after leading Long Beach State to a pair of victories last week.
Levin averaging 23.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game last week, leading Long Beach State to a pair of wins over CSUN and UC Riverside, moving the Beach into a tie for second-place in the conference after the first two weeks of league play.
Against CSUN, Levin scored a career-high 29 points with nine rebounds, and then followed up that performance by scoring 18 points at UCR with eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals against the Highlanders.
In the process, Levin extended his double-figure scoring streak to ten straight games, and has LBSU off to a 3-1 start in Big West Play.
The honor is the second of his career, as Levin previously was named the Big West Player of the Week in on February 15, 2016. The senior was also selected as the College Sports Madness Big West and Mid-Major Player of the Week for his efforts in the last two games for the Beach.
