Long Beach State Falls to Pacific in Semifinals

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Chad Troyer scored 22 points to lead Pacific to a 65-60 victory over Long Beach State in the semifinals of the Big West Conference tournament Friday night.

Michael Kirby and Bryan LeDuc each added 13 points for the third-seeded Tigers (19-11), who won their fifth consecutive game and will play top-seeded Cal State Northridge in the final Saturday night.

T.J. Robinson had 21 points and six rebounds for the second-seeded 49ers (15-15). Donovan Morris added 13 points and Casper Ware had eight points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Pacific held a 59-52 lead with 1:15 to play but Robinson scored six points during an 8-2 surge that narrowed Long Beach's deficit to 61-60 with 15.7 seconds remaining.

LeDuc made two free throws with 7.5 seconds left then grabbed the rebound off Morris' attempted 3-point shot that hit the rim with three seconds left.

Pacific will play in the Big West final for the fourth time in six years.
