 
JORDAN HIGH SCHOOL • Lettered two years in basketball at David Starr Jordan High School in Long Beach • earned All-Moore League honors as a senior and was named the Panthers "Best Offensive Player" • earned the Principal's Honor Roll Scholar-Athlete award as a senior • Jordan went 20-10 his senior campaign and 26-6 his junior campaign, winning the Moore League regular season title • as a senior Heard averaged 11.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game • he had 18 games where he scored in double digits • Jordan advanced to the CIF-SS Division IAA semifinals in 2007 • Jordan fell to Artesia in the semi's, 83-73, as Heard scored 15 points • had a career-high 26 points against Centennial in the first round of the CIF Playoffs, a 77-73 Panther victory • tallied 25 points, and added five rebounds and five assists, in a 51-41 win over Cabrillo • had six assists against three different opponents and had four or more assists in 13 of his 30 games • had a string of nine consecutive games scoring in double figures during Moore League play • as a junior he averaged 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game as Jordan went 26-6 and advanced all the way to the CIF-SS IAA championship game • team fell to Los Alamitos in the title game, 71-61, at The Pond • Jordan was invited to the CIF State SoCal Playoffs that year but fell to La Costa Canyon (84-76) in the opening round.
