LBSU Baseball Hosts Annual Dirt vs. Bags Series This Weekend
The Dirtbags will conclude their fall schedule this weekend with the annual Dirt vs. Bags series at Blair Field. The games are Friday (6 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m.) and admission is free.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Dirtbag Nation will get one last chance to check out some Long Beach State baseball this fall as the annual Dirt vs. Bags series takes place this weekend at Blair Field. The series begins at 6 p.m. on Friday followed by a 2 p.m. contest on Saturday. The yearly intrasquad scrimmages will be free for all fans to attend and will conclude the Dirtbags' fall schedule.
Here are the full rosters for both teams, who will be playing for bragging rights in the two-game series:
Team Dirt: John Sheaks, Eli Villalobos, Adam Seminaris, Tyler Lawson, Dylan Spacke, Sebastian Sanchez, Laine Huffman, Tristan Mercadel, Chris Jimenez, Cole Joy, Brooks Stotler, Santino Rivera, Ryan Mendoza, Steven Rivas.
Sheaks will be the starting pitcher for Team Dirt in Friday's opener, facing Andrews for Team Bags. In Saturday's game, Villalobos will start for Team Dirt and Castro will get the ball for Team Bags.
Long Beach State opens the 2018 regular season on Feb. 16, hosting Saint Mary's at Blair Field. Season tickets are on sale now, both online and via the Long Beach State Ticket Office at (562) 985-4949.
