Gagnon selected as starter for Cape Cod League All-Star game

Long Beach, Calif. - Dirtbag pitcher Andrew Gagnon has been selected as the Eastern Division's starter at the Cape Cod Baseball League's All-Star game, the elite showcase for the premier collegiate baseball league in the country. One of 21 players picked from the Eastern Division, Gagnon was chosen as the starting pitcher after a tremendous start for the Brewster Whitecaps. Gagnon leads the Cape with five wins, and is second in the League with 42 strikeouts over six starts while posting a 2.15 ERA. Gagnon was the ace of the Dirtbag pitching staff during the 2010 season, where he had 65 strikeouts and a 3.28 ERA while leading the team with 93.1 innings pitched. He was a second-team All-Big West selection and will anchor the 2011 Dirtbag pitching staff as he enters his junior year. The Cape Cod League All-Star Game will be played on July 28, 2010 at Fenway Park.
