Follow the Dirtbags in summer ball

Long Beach, Calif. - The second season for Long Beach State's baseball team is underway, as 12 returning players for the Dirtbags are participating in summer collegiate baseball leagues around the country. The Dirtbags have five players participating in the prestigious Cape Cod League, three in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), and have also sent players to Alaska, Hawaii, Minnesota and Ohio for the summer. Infielder Joey Terdoslavich and pitcher Jake Thompson are each playing for the Chatham Anglerss in the Cape Cod League, while outfielders Jordan Casas and Jonathan Jones are also teammates in the cape, playing for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Shortstop Devin Lohman rounds out the Long Beach State players in the Cape Cod League, playing for the Orleans Firebirds. Lefthander Jason Markovitz and outfielder Tre Dennis are teammates on the North Shore Navigators of the NECBL, and outfielder TJ Mittelstaedt is also in that league with the Newport Gulls. Long Beach State's 2009 Sunday starter Drew Gagnon is pitching in the Northwoods League, while Josh Corrales is pitching in the Alaska League. Fellow freshman Kirk Singer is in the Prospect League, playing for the North Coast Knights. FULL LIST OF PLAYERS
