Shane Carle Drafted By Pittsburgh On Day Two Of The MLB Draft
The junior pitcher was selected by Pittsburgh in the 10th round.

Long Beach, Calif. - Junior Shane Carle was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 10th Round on Friday, becoming the first player chosen from Long Beach State in the 2013 MLB Draft.
Carle started on Friday night throughout the 2013 campaign for Long Beach State after transferring into the program from Cabrillo College. The Santa Cruz, Calif. native posted a 3.57 ERA over 15 starts during the season, which included two complete games and one shutout. Carle also led the Dirtbags in innings pitched with 93.1 and in strikeouts, finishing the year with 75.
The MLB draft continues on Saturday, with rounds 11 through 40 being held as the draft comes to its conclusion.
